Spring term Attendance competition - Superhero Top Trumps

Every day, one lucky student with 100% attendance will be selected as the winner! The chosen student will receive a special attendance goodie bag packed with exciting prizes. Plus, they’ll get their very own custom Top Trump card to celebrate their outstanding attendance achievement.

The winner will also join their year group's superhero squad! At the end of the spring term, the year group with the largest superhero team will earn an exciting reward afternoon to celebrate their success!!

The Phoenix Primary School and Nursery is delighted to announce that we have been recognised with the prestigious National School Attendance Award! This accolade celebrates our school’s outstanding achievement in being ranked among the top 25% of schools nationwide for attendance compared to similar institutions. We are incredibly proud of our pupils, staff, and families for their dedication and commitment to fostering a thriving and engaging learning environment. This award reflects our shared belief in the importance of education and the strong community spirit that makes The Phoenix such a special place to learn and grow.

After the Christmas break, I plan to display pupil-designed attendance posters around the school to promote our Attendance Hero initiative. To support this, I kindly ask each class to allocate time for children to create their own posters.

I’ve attached a stimulus that can be used by SEN pupils or children who prefer not to draw, but it’s also available to inspire any of the children. The theme for the posters is Attendance Heroes and our Attendance Hero mascots.

Please ensure all posters are completed by next Wednesday, as we’ll be selecting winners to receive special attendance-themed prizes.

Look what our Attendance Hero mascots were up to this weekend! Ally showed off her skills at a gymnastics class and had a blast at the trampoline park with Karina. Meanwhile, Aria embraced the chilly weather with a peaceful winter walk through the woods with Ananya.

Attendance Week

On Monday, November 4th, 2024, The Phoenix Primary School and Nursery will kick off our new Attendance Heroes campaign as part of Attendance Week!

The theme for the week is Attendance Heroes: Here, Every day, Ready, On time. 

The Attendance Week tagline is: “If you miss school, you miss out!”

So make sure that you are in school Every day, ready and on time!

 

Our Attendance Heroes have landed!

Meet Arty, Ally, and Aria! Their mission is to help turn you into attendance heroes! Each week, a student from the class with the highest attendance will get to take one of our heroes home and capture photos of their weekend adventures. What exciting things will our heroes get up to this weekend?

 

Attendance quest books

Our new Attendance Quest books will be ready this Friday! A student from the class with the best attendance will get to take home one of our Attendance Heroes and share the exciting adventures their hero experienced with the classmates.

 

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have the chance to take home our hero Ally! Write about Ally's adventures and take photos to show what fun things Ally got up to at the weekend.

 

 

 

 

Years 3 and 4 students will soon have the exciting opportunity to bring home our beloved class mascot, Aria! Each weekend, one lucky student will get to take Aria on all sorts of adventures, and we can't wait to see what fun experiences you’ll have together.

While Aria is with you, try to capture some memorable moments! Write a short story about Aria's adventures—whether it’s exploring the park, helping out in the kitchen, or simply relaxing with a good book. Don’t forget to take photos along the way to show us all the fun things you and Aria got up to!

On Monday, bring Aria back with your story and photos so we can share the adventures with the whole class. We’re looking forward to seeing the amazing places Aria will visit and the wonderful stories you’ll create together!

Years 5 and 6 students will soon embark on exciting Quests with our attendance mascot, Arty! Each week, you'll get the chance to choose from a list of fun and creative challenges to complete with Arty by your side. Whether it's exploring nature, creating something artistic, or taking on a teamwork challenge, every Quest will be a new adventure!
