Upcoming: Year 5 and 6 Football Tournament

What a fantastic way to kickstart the sporting season! Today, Year 5 and Year 6 pupils proudly represented Phoenix at the annual Lee Chapel MAT International Day of Peace Football & Netball Tournament, competing against pupils from our fellow MAT schools: Rydene, Lee Chapel, Northlands and Chapel Hill. The tournament was a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to showcase their sporting talents, teamwork and determination. Across both football and netball, the children gave their all, demonstrating fantastic effort and a real willingness to support one another. Most importantly, our Phoenix teams showed great sportsmanship, respect and resilience throughout the day. They played with enthusiasm, encouraged their teammates and represented the school with pride. The International Day of Peace provided a fitting backdrop for a day centred around teamwork, friendship, respect and fair play. It was brilliant to see pupils from across the MAT coming together, competing positively and celebrating sport. 

A huge well done to all of our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils who represented Phoenix. We are incredibly proud of the determination and sportsmanship they showed.

What a successful day! Temisan and Karina, representing Year 3, flew through their heats and semi-finals to reach the 60m sprint finals with Temisan crossing the finish line as DISTRICT CHAMPION and Karina as a bronze medalist! We were absolutely ecstatic! We also had Marlie, representing the Year 4 girls, reach the 60m final, alongside two Year 4 boys finalists, James and Jayden. A special well done to Jayden, who ran superbly to claim a fantastic silver medal! Our 600m runners from both Year 3 and Year 4 ran sensationally, with every runner finishing in the top 8 throughout the day. A special mention to Isaac, who ran his race to perfection and finished 1st in his race — phenomenal! The final event of the day was the relay, and both teams qualified for the final. The girls narrowly missed out on 3rd place, but the boys worked together brilliantly to secure a bronze medal! What a team effort! The times for our track stars and results from the field events have not yet been announced, but a huge well done to everyone who took part and represented us so brilliantly. We are extremely proud of each and every one of you! Your hard work, teamwork and fantastic performances made it a truly memorable day.
